Where do I
begin? Cyna's passion for the mass media communications was sparked by
working for a post production house while in high school. Cyna started
fixing clients their breakfast, lunch and snacks and had many opportunities
to sit in on edit sessions for MTV, Macy's Commercials, Cindy Lauper,
The Cars, Henry Winkler, Phyllis Diller (just to name a few) of the celeb's
that she had the pleasure of meeting. Cyna then progressed to being a
receptionist in one of the most popular editing floors, here she learned
about the different formats of the day (¾ inch, and ½ inch)
by typing labels onto the finished projects, taking messages for editors
and clients. In the summer of her junior year, Cyna was moved from receptionist
to the accounting department, here Cyna learned about the money making
end of post-production business, in the billing department.
Eventually,
Cyna found her way to college and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communication
Arts with a Minor in Marketing and Advertising. While in her last semester
in college, she interned for Cablevision's Cable in the Classroom's Public
Relations Department. After her internship had ended, she was offered
a position as a Producer for the newly revived ExtraHelp Channel.
As a member
of the new ExtraHelp team, she was in charge of auditioning, contacting
guess, formatting programs, shooting and editing field pieces and launching
the new channel. After the successful 1st launch in April 1995, Cyna was
then assigned to work on the expanded programming hours. In August 1995,
ExtraHelp launched a 2nd time, introducing day-time programming. It is
after this 2nd launch that Cyna chose to concentrate on improving the
afternoon and evening shows. As a night-time producer Cyna was in charge
of 15 shows. One of these shows was an Auto Repair show hosted by Steve
Broncatello. In the Fall of 1995, ExtraHelp won a Cable Ace Award for
Educational Television. Fast forwarding to 1998, Cyna's final contribution
to Cablevision's Rainbow Media was assisting in the launch of Metro Channel.
While working
with Cablevision, Cyna also formed her own production company - Chaos
Productions. Under Chaos, she focused on projects that had some interest
to her. Chaos did large-scale video production utilizing a media truck,
small industrial video productions, as well as, consulting work for organizations
that wanted to enter into the television/video medium.
Now several
years removed, Cyna is focusing her energies with Motor Mouth Radio. Motor
Mouth Radio is enabling her to be creative, passionate and involved in
something that benefits people - good consumer advice on automotive and
motorcycle topics. Cyna's goals for Motor Mouth Radio is to have the team
move into satellite radio, she believes with a larger audience this genre
of radio will enpower people with knowledge about the vehicles they drive
and ride.
